Job Posting: Part-Time Teacher

Position Overview
We are currently seeking part-time BC-certified teachers who are passionate about innovative and personalized education, particularly in a home learning or distributed learning environment. We are hiring for positions in:

  • High School (Grades 10–12)

  • Elementary (Kindergarten-9)

Our ideal candidates will be enthusiastic facilitators of multi-age, cross-curricular learning experiences and possess a strong ability to work independently while maintaining consistent communication with students and families. A compassionate, strengths-based approach to diverse learners is essential for this position. We are especially seeking candidates with experience or training in supporting neurodivergent learners (e.g., students with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, or other learning differences).

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement engaging, student-centered learning plans

  • Support and monitor student progress in a home learning setting

  • Communicate weekly with families and learners

  • Document student learning and prepare required reporting

  • Maintain compliance with BC Ministry of Education and Child Care standards

Qualifications:

  • Valid BC Teaching Certificate (issued by the BC Teacher Regulation Branch)

  • Experience or strong interest in home-based or distributed learning

  • Ability to teach multiple grade levels and cross-curricular subjects

  • Proficient in the use of technology and online communication tools

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • A collaborative and adaptable attitude

Assets:

  • Orton-Gillingham Level 1 training (or equivalent experience in Structured Literacy and/or Numeracy initiatives)

Working Conditions

  • Part-time, contract-based position

  • Remote work with flexible scheduling within the academic calendar

  • Teachers will be assigned student caseloads according to availability and qualifications.

Compensation

  • Contract Rate: $1,736–$2,392 per FTE student

  • Compensation is prorated based on assigned caseload and contract hours
